Why yes, indeed this was taken above the clouds. I had the opportunity of sitting by the window as the sun was setting and the clouds were so fluffy and nice...

And, another pun. :iconannexation75: Actually didn't do it on purpose until I read the title again and realized that it was a pun. Again. :D It's punny. Hahaha, puns are so much fun. And that rhymed.

Alright. I still have over a hundred pictures from these.. I'll probably end up posting more and keeping only one of them up, or moving the rest to scraps.

Yum. Cotton Candy Clouds. Delicious

Another critique for you for Feedback Frenzy so please enjoy ^-^

I'm really glad I decided to click on the thumbnail of this piece and actually look at it at a big size because I had no idea this was the sky and not the ocean and I LOVE how fluffy and soft the clouds look.
I don't want to talk to much about angles and etc because I know that you must've taken this through a tiny plane window and so it's not exactly EASY to get perfect shots.
One thing I do wish were slightly different though was the amount of orange sky in comparison to the clouds, there's just slightly too much cloud for my personal taste and just by having slightly more orange in view would've used the rule of thirds well. I love how all the different sections of the image are different too - the foreground has all the lovely, fluffy detailed clouds whilst the middleground is a very calm, long section of clouds that look like the ocean and then the background with the beautiful orange sky. It's hard to say exactly how I'd change this to fit the rule of thirds because i'd be reluctant to want to crop any off the bottom because of how beautiful all the shapes of the clouds look at the very bottom of the composition but perhaps using the clone tool to bring down the horizon line... hmmm. :?
I think perhaps A slightly higher D.O.F. is needed for higher overall image quality but then obviously lighting would be an issue. It's incredibly hard to give advice on settings with such a picture because of the fact that you're in a moving vehicle, looking through a window etc
overall MARVELLOUS effort and it's amazing how much this looks like the ocean from afar ^-^

Hi, I'm writing this on behalf of #FeedbackFrenzy. (However, all opinions stated are my own.)

First of all, I like the color that the sky was. That's what made me select your photo; it was eye catching and definitely the right shade of orange. I also like how you took the clouds and made them look like the ocean, such a great illusion indeed.

Some things to consider: I don't know, it looks a bit out of focus, if your camera is not focusing right, and you're trying to get landscapes like this (or any shot taken through a window) try switching the lens to M and turning it to the far left until it will not turn anymore. Other than that, I think the photo came out excellent.

Sincerely, Jonathan

Thanks so much for the feedback!
Yeah, I was taking it through a window so it was kinda difficult to get a good angle :/ But thank you! I'll try that next time :)

Critique for FF ^^

I totally thought this was the ocean when I first looked at it. The way the clouds are make it look like calm waves coming it at sunset. I absolutely love the perfect bands of oranges and the straight horizon line; i love how they contrast so nicely with the blue clouds. This strikes me as something that could be a CD cover. Something else I find neat is that, if you look at it more like an ocean, it looks like an explosion/end of the world kind of thing going on. There are so many ways to look at this, and the simplicity really leaves it open for interpretation and imagination. Love it
